(1) The authorized officer shall imprison for six months or fine up to five thousand to fifteen thousand rupees and confiscate such vehicle without keeping the actual number or plate as mentioned in the certificate of registration. (2) The authorized officer may fine those who commit the following acts as follows:-
(a) From five hundred to two thousand rupees to those who cause to act contrary to section 12, 45 or 117.
(b) From one thousand to five thousand rupees to those who commit acts contrary to section 14, 29, 39, 75, 93, 96, 125 or 129.
(c) From 2 thousand to 10 thousand rupees to those who cause to act contrary to section 159.
(3) Except as mentioned in sub-section (1) or (2), the authorized officer may impose a fine of two hundred to one thousand rupees on those who cause to act contrary to this Act or the rules or orders issued under this Act.
(4) The court may award appropriate compensation to the person who has suffered loss from such person by punishing him with a fine of up to twenty-five thousand rupees or imprisonment for five years or both. (5) The court may award appropriate compensation to the person who has suffered loss from such person by punishing him with a fine of one thousand rupees or imprisonment for a term of one year or both.
